Dendritic white opal, also known as dendritic opal or "moss opal," is a type of opal characterized by its white to milky base color and the presence of dark, tree-like inclusions called dendrites. These dendritic patterns are usually composed of manganese or iron oxides and create striking, natural designs within the stone. Dendritic opal forms in silica-rich environments where water with high concentrations of manganese or iron flows through the rock. Over time, these elements precipitate out of the water and form the characteristic dendritic patterns.
